CONTRACT
I, ________________________________, promise the following goals to myself in the year 2012 to achieve optimal health and wellness.
1. I will find a plan and work my plan. I am in control of what goes into my body, not someone else. I will avoid situations that cause me to be tempted to revert to old habits.
2. I will avoid things that are harmful to my body and mind, including sugar, processed food, missing sleep and stress whenever possible. I will avoid giving myself permission to indulge in junk food on special occasions.
3. I will move or exercise every day for 30 minutes at a minimum. I will avoid procrastination and making excuses to myself about why I can’t on a certain day. It will be a part of my every day life on purpose. No one will make me but me.
4. I will stop paying attention by arbitrary societal standards. My resolve is to follow a healthful lifestyle. I will not allow my wellness to be dictated strictly by weight goals.
5. I will drink water at every opportunity instead of soft drinks.
6. I will find a few minutes every day to relax, read or pray to contribute to the balance in my life. I understand the connection between my mind and body.
7. I will volunteer and do things for others often. I will seek out opportunities to help and encourage others.
8. I will not berate myself for mistakes. I will start again the minute after a mistake, not wait until tomorrow. This is lifestyle, not a temporary commitment.
